Default 2003 X-Type Brake Problems

Hello all. I inherited a 2003 X-Type that had a ruptured rear brake hose. The master cylinder, booster, abs unit, all brake hoses and 4 calipers have been replaced. The brake pedal goes to the floor but each wheel does grab. There is pressure building at the LR and RF wheels, but not the RR and LF. The system has gravity bled and pressure bled a full gallon each of Dot 4. Any help in getting a higher pedal would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Forums.

Members in the X Type (X400) Tech Section, down the home page a tad, will have answers specific to that model.

Good luck

Welcome to the forums Papasquirrel,

That's a serious cost in Dot 4.

Jaguar recommended order for bleeding on the X-Type is rear right, rear left, front right and front left-hand brake circuits.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new X-type Jaguar!
Good job replacing all those suspect brake parts. Someone in our X-type section will help you with the rest.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
