Default 2004 X-type 2.5 manual transmission

Hello all.. I'm new to the jaguar family.. I recently purchased a one owner, well maintained 2004 x-type, and am beginning to regret my decision.. Two days after acquiring the car the radiator went.. Luckily I found a video on YouTube of how to replace it myself, after waiting 2 weeks for the replacement. Ugh! The first replacement arrived with a snapped off overflow valve. Now I've had the car for one month and it's making a high pitched whine (almost like a turbo, or jet engine) when I'm on a steep decline without my foot on the accelerator.. Now it's also doing it when I'm at 30mph.. My transmission shifts great, but I am feeling like the acceleration is a little sluggish... I've read through the threads and am thinking bearing.. Or transfer case?? Anyway thanks for having the forum.. It's greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum Phillip,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Very unusual to find any Jaguar still with the original owner after fourteen years.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
