I am in my third week of ownership with a new 2020 F-Pace SVR. I think it is a great vehicle so far. Is there a big difference between the 2020 vs. 2021 MY? Not to be nosey, but how did the 2020 perform for you? Any flaws to watch for? I usually change cars every 18 months or so, but I am hoping to keep this one a bit longer. Apparently you are confident with choosing the same vehicle. Congratulations on your purchase.

Now that I've test driven the 2021 SVR, I can say it feels like a completely different vehicle on an entirely new level. Aside from the obvious interior upgrade to the level of Land Rover, the driving experience is night and day (and I think my 2020 driving experience is awesome). The new '21 transmission tuning from the Project 8 feels like a purpose built sports car - the shifts are crazy snappy and in dynamic mode it thumps you in the back of the head like a single clutch Aventador haha. The brake feel is finally excellent (the one thing I really dislike about the 2020 - feels like it will never stop). Steering is much tighter and more direct. The new paddles are even bigger and nicer as well....just the cool factor though. Oh, and your left elbow doesn't fall off the arm rest anymore haha. Thankfully, the exhaust still pops and cracks - but it's definitely quieter overall and less Jaguar 'scratchy' sounding. More sound insulation as well and the exhaust is much quieter from inside with the windows up. And finally, we get the option of ordering it with performance tires for North America. Just P Zeros but they're much better to drive on than the Scorpion Zeros (I have Nokian snow tires for the Canadian winter).
Not much to watch out for though in the 2020 MY. The infotainment Amp failed and was replaced under warranty (no sound for a few weeks until the part came in). Other than that, zero issues.

Thank you for the thorough critique. The 2021 SVR sounds like a much refined version. Each MY may have additional improvements if JLR continues to produce the model. I do miss the stopping power of the Porsche Macan S with six caliper front brakes, and the 7 speed PDK is the industry standard. I did have transfer case issues with the power train though. I am enjoying the raw driving experience of the SVR.
Is there a long wait time for new car order deliveries and do you know if dealerships are willing to negotiate much? I found my 2020 SVR at a JLR dealership recently with only 1200 miles on the clock and a $20K discount. I find that it is a lot of car for the money and couldn't pass up the deal.
Hope your new car arrives soon.

No problem! Funny you mention the Macan - it's the only other performance SUV I've driven that came anywhere close to making me at least think about getting another SVR or not (and that includes the GLC63S that I considered for obvious reasons).
I ordered my 2021 in late December and it's scheduled to arrive Aug. 28 (hit the production line yesterday). My 2020 was a 10 month wait after submitting the order. If you don't care about spec as much they tend to be on enough dealership lots in Canada and the US but they disappear pretty quick...even though the exterior colors the dealerships order are prettttty boring.
The only negotiation I managed was getting $3600 off the $6100 CAD SVO paint palette option (went with Petrolix). Then another grand or so for the Jaguar loyalty program later.

Not too bad a wait time to get something you know you want. I found a left over new 2020 with an aggressive discount and most of the desirable options. I'm not a big fan of the yulong white but it does contrast the additional black trim pieces of the SVR. After owning a variety of six different Porsche models (mostly 911's) I became disenchanted with their approach to doing business and the escalating price structure. I feel the SVR has good value for the price, and offers a unique and exciting driving experience. I'm sure you'll enjoy your 2021 even more..

Yea my C63 was 15 months so I'm not complaining haha. Your aggressive discount doesn't fare well for me trying to sell my 2020 without losing too much haha (although dealers in Canada are listing used 2020 SVRs for only about 5% less than new because we don't get too many).
Agreed, brand loyalty only lasts as long as the brand is loyal to its values and customers as well. I couldn't stomach a GLC63S being $15k more than my SVR with similar options and a negligible increase in performance with much less space and an old interior. SVR is tough to beat in its segment and it's $35-50k cheaper than the comparable X5M, Levante Trofeo or Cayenne Turbo.
