99 xjr
Hey all,
I recently moved to California from Northern Ireland and soon realised a few things. The petrol and insurance are cheaper, and the cars don't have to put up with endless rain and salt destroying them. This immediately sent me searching for an xjr, my dad had owned an xj6r when I was younger and the love of the styling and power never left me.
I bought a 99 x308 with pretty low miles and am more than happy with it. As it stands my main goal is to get any preventative measures addressed, the previous owner seemed pretty clueless to what had been done.
So far I have changed my old (significantly cracked and worn) secondary timing chain tensioners. A job which seemed a bit daunting at first, but turned out being way easier than expected.
Next up is the water pump, and who knows what after that.
Anyway, it's great to be part of the community.
