Adopted a 1966 MK2 3.4
Just delivered and home. A couple of questions: is there any problem using unleaded gas or do I need an additive? What about oils: are there zinc issues? (I know that oil questions can be contentious and do not mean to be so.)
The car is for touring: has a 4 speed transmission with OD. It is a driver, not a show car and needs to be treated as such.
We are located in Southern California.

Welcome.
MY OPINION on your questions.
Unleaded is fine, and the highest octane available is what I would use.
20W50 Mineral, good quality oil is all that XK engine requires. If fancy fits the wallet, go for it, as it is your car after all. All my XK powered cars ran that spec, and brands depended on the specials on the day I needed it.

Welcome to the forum Charles,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
Follow Norri's link in post #7 to the MKI/MKII forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
