Ahoy!
Well, I acquired my G Pa's 1993 Jaguar XJS. 4.0 inline 6 powerplant. About 110k and leaks in all of the usual places...
Anyways, I have been getting on here the last couple of weeks and learning a lot from you all!
Some good information, a little B/S, and from the looks of it, some good quantity beer drinking.
So, since pulling her out of a 5 or so year hibernation, i have replaced the battery, changed the oil and filter, changed the rear diff fluid, checked the brakes, almost got the flat spots out of the tires ("they are old, but they don't have a lot of miles"), topped off the tranny fluid (probably need to drop the pan, change the filter and seal it back up), K&N air filter (PITA)...A couple tanks of gas and I'll replace plugs and fuel filter.
Anything I have missed for initial checks before things start to break?

Hello, Ron,
Congratulations on your new XJS!
Just about the first thing you Must do is get new tires on it. How many miles on tires isn't as important as how old they are. Even sitting in a shed out of the sun and weather tread compound ages. As these have been flat for a while, probably there are micro cracks in the side walls allowing deterioration of the cord. I can tell you how I know all this, and if there was time I could regale you with the tale of what I was doing when one let go on a curve at speed and how I survived.
Perhaps another time.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Ron,
Good to have you with us.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the XJS forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/ to find other members in your region.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham
