I just purchased a 2005 Jaguar XJ8 L Vanden Plas and I just love it. Just under 125k miles. Runs and drives great!! My dream car!
It has started displaying Air Suspension Fault. Sometimes immediately. Sometimes a few minutes after I'm on the road. Ride is slightly rougher than expected, but still good.
Got mechanic to run diagnostic test and came back all good, no codes.
my concern is the drivers side, front tire. There is clearly an inch less room between the top of the tire and the nut on the running gear above the tire, leaving only about one inch of clearance. I did change the #4 relay. Still getting ASF message. Car still rides good?? Do I change the shock? No codes, so not sure what to do because that corner doesn't come up, doesn't get lower? Help!!

Update.....
After changing the #4 relay( as I read in numerous post it might be first, cheapest guess) there was no change, at all. Then I disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes and touched battery cables together for 10 seconds. ASF message and amber light went out, but only for a few minutes. After this, I notices windows weren't working. Saw post for resetting the windows. That worked perfectly.....and ASF message and amber warning light turned off. Went for a short drive. Everything seems fine, except front drivers side is still lower. I can place three fingers between front passenger tire and wheel well. Only two fingers on drivers side. U.S. car. Tying to include a picture....not sure how, yet, lol. Front, drivers side Front, drivers side
Welcome. The codes for the suspension aren't read by "normal" code readers. They are in there but just don't display. I have a Foxwell reader which can read them and other specialized codes and am still working through it. I only have it because It was relatively inexpensive and can work as a "normal"reader too.... There are other kinds of code readers which also claim to work for chassis codes but I have no experience with them. There is a thread devoted to the debate of such things. Good luck!

Air suspension is a regular issue on this model. Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
