Aloha, not a Jag owner yet but seriously looking for just the right XK8. I have fallen in love with this car and am researching what year to buy. Have been reading up and feel it's time to hang around here for awhile and soak up some wisdom from the forum sages.
I do not want to spend much more than around 12K as this will be strictly a fun car with no real use other than a few days a month.
As I live on Maui local cars are few and far between but I have found a 2002 in Honolulu for 12K. Not perfect but not bad, has 72K miles on it.

Any assistance in what to look for and what to watch out for is appreciated as well as suggestions on model years and issues. I am willing to stretch the budget a little for the right car and realize I may have to ship one from the mainland.

I can tell you have been researching successfully in XK8/XKR forum and have found the 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Your choice locally is likely to be very restricted. Are there any problems such as taxes in shipping a car in from the mainland?
