Always Wanted A Jaguar!
Hay, Just purchased an X-Type 2003. Usual problems, stutter @3000 rpm, clank in the right front, third brake light inop, ripped seat, and foggy headlamps. Replaced front struts, new breather tube, brake vacuum tube, upper and lower manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, air cleaner, general compound and wax, seat repair/dye, upper radiator hose, thermostat, and restored headlamps. Oh, and lets not forget about the gas flap release!! Nice when you go to put gas in for the first time and the fuel door will not open! NOW!!!! I have a P0117 code, believe it is a coolant sensor problem. Bad thermostat?? Sender?? really pis... . Now what. Any help??

Welcome to the forum jtp1313,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you have already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it fro me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link USA Mid Atlantic - MD VA DC DE WV - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

When you buy a used car, Any used car, there's a reason someone got rid of it, usually more than one. It sounds like your Jag was seriously neglected until it simply couldn't work anymore.
< sarcasm> It's a Lot of fun playing Maintenance Catch Up, isn't it.</sarcasm>
