Another Jaguar Seat Problem
Hello fellow Jag owners: My car is a 2000 Jaguar XJ8, I live in St Catharines Ontario Canada.\, thats jus a few miles from Niagara Falls. Came across Jaguar forums whilst trying to get info' on seat modules. The passenger seat on my recent possession has no signs of life when the seat adjustment buttons are depressd. Heres what my son and I did yesterday, theres probably an easier way !! we could not get the modules out withlout removing the seat,we did this and tried the module out by inserting it in the drivers side which works ok. Bye the way we also took out the drivers seat to get to everything. We tried swapping relays and modules and both worked ok in the drivers side.Ruling out the seat module and relay. Then we actually swithed seats to make sure the wiring in the seat was ok,it worked well on the drivers side. Oh! Our aching backs!1 We did of course prior to getting into all this checked the fuses to eliminate that possible cause.Summary...The wiring harnesses under the seat look neat and tidy and harnessed tightly no sign of damage. We now know that the module is ok,the relay is ok,the wiring looks ok and the seat works well on the other side..Where to go from here?? any ideas will be greatly appreciated..Regards Ian Macdonald
