another new guy
hello, i just got a 1988 xj6 , i traded a 2001 ford crown vic with a lifter problem for it. its a one owner car ,136,000 miles, except for the clear coat the cars in great shape.
i do have a few questions, the dash says i have a power fluid low and anti lock failure, the fluids are all topped off , the anti lock isnt a big deal. do these sensors go bad often?
also the car runs smooth but from a stop it doesn't seem it have a lot of get up and go, and there isnt any real difference between light or heavy throttle from a stop,is it just these cars or do you think something is wrong?

Hey MO welcome aboard....classy ride you have.
As stated you should get help from some real experts that kick around in those sections, sopme great techs here too if you need them.
As Strateloss said, before you go for the colour change, in the meantime a few $$$ for a quality detail will have her lookin like new. You'd be absolutely amazed at what a REAL professional can achieve in 10-14 hours.
Check out some of the links in the detailing section and links to detailing world

yes they can clean up the clear flake and put nice acrylic sealers and lsp's and carnauba's to protect it. theres a thread i made linking a few detailing mother treads and hyperlinks to 2 specific cars done.
its in the detailing subsection and you will be amazed at the vintage vehicle that went from scrubbing pad grade paint to a smooth decently showing color.
