Default Another New guy, saying Hi

Hi All, First time Jag owner, already hooked. short story, Buddy's Uncle had this 99 xj8, ran when he parked it, sat for years (like 8). Uncle passed, they tried forever to get it running to no avail,, decided they were going to scrap it, I said no way,, is straight, clean, and solid, no way i was going to let it die.gave them $500 for it.... did my research, thought maybe the car lost keycode (no battery for years). well, keyguy said the key they had was chipless, made a chipped key, fired right up. passed missouri safety inspection, drives well but dash is all lit up with every warning light it has, played with it a bit,, swapped all coils and injectors to rule them out,, have a scanner, will clear all codes, will run it for a bit to get all the fresh new codes and go from there,, have already found this site to be a valuable source of info and look forward to driving this beautiful car. will more then likely need some info on more then a few things. Thanks for the add,,, Mike

Welcome to the forum Mike,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

No battery/flat battery will have set all kinds of codes. Good plan to note them down, clear them and then see which come back.

Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
