Another newbie
Hi All,
New member here from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Just bought a 2017 XE as my first Jaguar after a long time driving Cadillacs and coming out of a CTS. I was looking to downsize and planned on getting into an ATS but I wanted a boosted V6 in an AWD car and couldn't get that in an ATS. After lots of shopping around it came down to a Genesis G70 and the Jaguar XE. One test drive and the XE won me over. I bought a used one to see how the car and the ownership experience is over the next year or two then if all goes well I'll be factory ordering a brand new one.
So far I've loving the XE but three things I dearly miss moving from my CTS:
1. Passive locking. With the CTS I could just close the door and walk away and it would lock automatically. That XE doesn't do that and I've already left it unlocked dozens of times. That'll take some getting used to.
2. Remote start on the key fob. I park my car in an underground parking lot and got real used to starting it from the key fob as I walked up then I can just hop in and drive without waiting even a minute. Even outside I'd rather just hit a button on the key fob than go through the app dance to remote start it.
3. Creating playlists on the go. With the CTS I just loaded lots of tunes on the car's drive and when shuffling songs if a tune I liked came on I could hit a button and save the tune to one of five playlists. With the XE I have to create playlists in advance it seems.
None are a big deal but all would be nice to have!!
All in I'm happy with the purchase and a factory order will probably come down to how the service visits go over the next several months.
