Default Autocross

Hello.

I bought a 2002 XJ Sport from a friend starting a new dealership. Thanks to the site I was able to pop the trunk and now I'm in the middle of fixing a broken door cable.

The car has an engine code (one for a loose fuel cap) and a fair amount of rust. It smells like it is burning a little oil. I'm changing it tomorrow.

All thing considered, I love driving it.

Reason for the purchase: SCCA autocross. I was in the market for a car to use that was totally outside the box. I had my eye on an Audi A8 but my friend came across this for dirt cheap and I couldn't resist.

For those familiar, I'm running RTR. Only one event done so far. Second is this Sunday.

I just put on some slightly used Bridgestones that are near correct at 255/45. I'm pretty excited because he tires that were on it were for SUVs.

I'm sure you'll all be hearing lots of questions from me in the future.

Any advice on where to score a cheap leaper? $60 or so on eBay is what I've found.

Welcome to the forum Nebraska2000ES,

Certainly an unusual choice of vehicle!

It sounds like you may already have found your way around here but if not, follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Central Region section by following this link Central US - MT WY CO ND SD NE KS - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Good luck for Sunday and enjoy the forum.
