been here for a little while - time for the intro!
good day all, i acquired a 98 x308 VDP with 130k about month and half ago. she is amaranth , and definitly may need a re-spray in the future (although it looks goof from 20 feet). However, for $4500, she was documented as having the timing upgrades, plus numerous other "problem areas" addrsssed by a jag specialist who i was able to meet with and talk to personally (which is worth a million $$!!). on the inside she is clean , headliner was redone, i wil probably re-dye the front bottom leather, but it is in good shape otherwise. anyhow, right off the bat, i had a trans failure , and had the same guy swap the trans with one from a breaker with 74k on it. so i am finally driving it now just working out the smaller niggles associated with these cars. i enjoy getting my hands dirty and will try almost anything that doesnt require a lift. i cut my teeth on old triumphs, a 96 xjs vert, 00 xj8, and also currently have a 1989 SAAB 900 turbo vert which i mess about with.
this forum has already saved me countless hours and money and i look forward to discussing all thigs jaguar and automotive with all on the forum! im on the email list for JAG group here in north jersey and hope to finally make it to a breakfast meet soon.
cheers !- steve
