Default Boo!

Hi. I'm new around here.

I hate to join a forum and Take rather than Give to start with. But the rules say I don't have full membership until I get a post count.

But I don't have a Jag and so can't contribute effectively! But I understand why you have to do it.

I really fancy a Jaguar. I have no reason to buy one, just want one!

I have found a one owner from new XJ8 3.2 V8 at 70.000 miles for 4 grand.

Slightly high I think but TBH it is immaculate.

I'm searching for gearbox information. There must be a way to replacing the ATF and filter rather than run it into the ground surely?

Oh well, off to search and post random comments to get my post count up!

Welcome Gram!

Post your question in the appropriate forum (X300 or X308?) and you'll get lots of input.

Cheers,

Don

Welcome to the forum Gram,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Changing ATF in the supposedly 'sealed for life' transmission is a regular DIY. Details in the FAQ's.

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the UK Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/

Enjoy the forums.

Thank you very much, chaps.

I'm having a test drive tomorrow. I'd post the link of the car here but someone might pip me to the post and buy it first!

Unless it's a dog and I haven't noticed...

Thanks.

I found the download pages!

That's brilliant. It answered all my questions about the gearbox.

So it's just a test drive now! Two hours to go and counting...

I've bought it!

OMG what have I done!!

It has a few marks commensurate with it's age.

Slightly worrying is a sticky oily patch at the rear. But it's not fresh oil.

What would the favourite place be Diff or axle? It's in the centre BTW
