Smile Born in the UK. Livin in the USA. 1st time Jag Owner.

Found my way here after purchasing a XK a couple of weeks ago. Grew up around lots of old British cars. My father owned a 1960 Morgan 4+4. I loved that car. My mother always wanted an old E-Type. She still doesn't have it. I wish I could get it for her. I decided 4 months ago on the XK8 or the XKR, and a year greater than 2001. I was shocked to see how quickly they were selling when I found a deal on one. I finally found the one I got in Las Vegas, NV. I flew out there and drove it 2500 miles home to Florida. I could not be happier with my decision or this vehicle.

It is a 2006 Jaguar XK8 Vintage Edition. The exterior is Black Copper Metallic, and cream or ivory leather interior. I love the 19" Atlas Chrome Wheels. Those 2500 miles; 2 - 14.5 hour days and a 9 hour day were so comfortable in that driver's seat. I love driving this car. The 16 year old GPS did a great job in getting me back as well.

I spent the first 12 years of my life in Ipswich, England, UK. My dad was a USAF serviceman. He met and married my mum in Ipswich. In 1972 we/I moved to the States. We ended up at Homestead AFB, FL. I joined the US Coast Guard at 17 the day I graduated High School (Jan 23, 1978). I gave the USCG 20 years and retired Mar 6, 1998 in Mobile, AL. I went to college while working as a contractor for the USCG. I then went to work for the aircraft manufacturer Airbus. I then Joined the faculty at Enterprise State Community College and taught until I retired in December of 2014.

I now live on Pine Island, FL. One of Florida's best kept secrets. Life is good. This car just made it better!

Welcome to the forums Mark,

Good to hear you didn't have the XK8 shipped home and drove it back from LV. I think that should be "Victory Edition" rather than "Vintage Edition"?

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
