I thought it was a good idea to power wash the Jag's engine....Bad idea. Coils went swimming. Replaced plug with Autolights, they are garbage..bought some Bosch +2 (4301) I hope they are better. Check engin light is on. This is my second Jag, I once owned a rare 1976 Jaguar XJ6-C, Avon Convertible. This is my first XK8, a BRG on Tan Coupe. I have owned about 14 Porsche 944's, 914's, 928's, older 911's, a 996 and a Boxster. Though I'd try something different.
I may have shorted a coil..IDK>. I am hoping with a couple of days to dry here in the San Diego sun, and all new plugs it will run ok to a shop...any advice will help.

What luck. After letting it sit in the sun for two days, cleaning every electical connector with CRC Electrical parts cleaner, puttting DiElectric grease on all contact points, Using the CRC throttle body cleaner (thx forums) and using CRC Air Flow Meter cleaner, then replacing all the plugs with Bosch +2 plugs, the car runs and sounds much better than it did when I bought it. Problem solved. These forums were a BIG HELP!

I have a question about the headlights, it looks like I can take them apart and reseal them to stop condensation, but what about how they look? Mine looks like the paint is coming off, maybe sand and paint the plastic? Or buy good used units at the junkyard? There is a great Jaguar yard here in San Diego, owned by family friends. $90 each light for good ones. I'm thinking I will try to paint them first if it doesn't work, buy used units. What do you think?
