Default Broken Hose Fitting (Hose OK)

Hi - First timer here - I have a 2004 Vanden Plas. I had the false alarm coolant sensor and last time it was for real and I kind of ignored it until I saw the steam (bad idea) hope I didn't damage engine before it shut itself down). I found the problem - a broken fitting on a part I can't seem to ID. The local Jag dealer is pretty non-responsive so I was hoping someone here might know what part I am dealing with - here is a far and near picture of the broken fitting and hose that belongs there but is pulled off to the left of the hole. Half of the metal 'nipple' fitting is inside the hose - the other half is still on the part. The orange crud is from the radiator coolant spilling out and burning on.

The part that failed appears to be the water outlet. The JLR part number is AJ811793. The plastic cooling system components can only withstand a finite number of cold to hot to cold cycles before failing.

The water outlet on the AJ33/AJ34 is a known failure point and should be replaced each time the coolant is replaced.

Another common cooling system component failure are the two feed hoses to the EGR valve. The valve is just above the water outlet with one of the hoses running under the inlet manifold.

Thank you for the quick replies. I'll mention this to the Jag dealer here in KC and see what I'm up against.

Welcome to the forums bbenton001,

JLR are showing Out of Stock on this item so your dealer may not be able to help.

I did find a new one listed on ebay:

Hi again - When I look at the actual pictures from the ebay link below (thanks) or the replacement water outlet pipe on partsgeek (link below), I can't quite match it up to mine perhaps because I can't see everything when it's installed, but I took another pic overhead of the broken part so you can see where it is located just to be sure my earlier pictures were not telling the whole story - it's the brown dappled part and connects to both of the large radiator hoses (the broken fitting is on the left and radiator just out of view at the bottom). Thanks again or all your kind assistance.

@bbenton001, the water outlet shown in the photo is correct.

There are eight Torx bolts securing the water outlet to the cylinder block and heads. The water outlet also contains a new thermostat and coolant temperature sensor.
