Live in Los Angeles. Have always had one XJ in the stable since 2000, and had a Rover 3500 before that in the mid-80's (which, if you are old enough to remember, or Google, looks a lot, shape-wise like the current XJ). Second car, since the late 70's has always been, until recently (2013), a C class Mercedes (280 C coupe, 320 Cab CLK, 350 CAB CLK). Since I have three kids that drove (now finally out of the house) we have also owned several A4's , an RS6 and some other nice cars, but the Jags are MY and the wife's favorite. In 2013 looked at a TESLA and decided I should, for the same money, buy a Jag (went for the XF) and a hybrid to be eco/green conscious. Wound up, believe it or not, loving my C-Max and not loving my XF. I thought I would like a smaller Jag then the XJ, but once you have an XJ, it is really hard to go to an XF, because the ride on the XJ (I have had three XJ's in small wheelbase, not extended) is soooooo nice, there is just nothing like it. I am in the process of selling the XF and moving back to an XJ short wheelbase for the road. Never use anything but the C-Max for in town due to the short hauls, tough parking in small (and getting smaller) city spaces and the 40 MPG. the combo of those two cars is just right for us..for now. want all electric and hope the F-Pace will have an all-electric in the next three years. That would really be perfect!! Jaguar still my all time favorite brand and all time favorite ride, especially on the longer hauls over an hour or more. Nothing..NOTHING rides like the big Jaguar.

Welcome to the forum CALIXF13,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I also prefer the older XJ's but that's probably because I'm getting old and owned them when they were current models!
I can see you're already finding your way around the forums so there's no need for any links from me.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
