Red face Car over rev's at start up, just rebuilt Carburettor

Hi I just finished rebuilding my XJ6 double SU carb's with the Auto choke in between, and when I went to tune the carb's it over revved? Any idea's on what I have done wrong?
Kindest regards, I'm NOT a mechanic, I just googled how to rebuild your carburettor.

Welcome to the Forums.

There will be lots of suggestion/reasons, in the XJ6 S1/2/3 Tech Section.

Also, the members in the Western Australia Regional section may also have a heads up. I know a guy in Kalgoorlie, TOO far, that could sort it.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Rex,

Good to have you with us.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/ to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...ia-western-96/ to find other members in your region.

I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
