Catless, but looking!

Catless, but looking!
After years and years of looking and planning the customization and restoration of my dream machine (a late 1960's Pontiac ragtop) I had everything changed by an encounter with a 2001 XK8C! I am not new to mechanical work on cars and have done work on XKE's, but even they did not grab my attention like the XK8. So, here I am....doing research and trying to find the best XK8C that I can purchase outright. I hope to be lucky enough to blunder into a cheap project that I can build to my specs. I am glad to be here and will mostly be quietly lurking....Seems to be a lot of helpful stuff here!

Welcome to the forum TBM,
Hope the 'encounter' was a sighting and not an insurance issue.
Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The HOW TO section is a good place to start. If there's anything you can't find, post a question.
I think I've got the right location for you for "Jewel in the Cornfield". You can also visit the US Mid West Region section by following this link Mid West US - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the search and the forum.

I was in a local lot and there was a immaculate 2001 xk8c in green. It was sold, but the salesman was more than happy to let me sit in it and peek under the cowl. For 12k, I thought.."This is a lot of car for the money..." I have of course seen them all over, but never actually sat behind the wheel of one. I love my friends XKE's, but I think the elegance and civility of the XK8 has now made it my next dream ride. I can't wait to learn more about these cars so I can narrow down the search as I sell toys to make room and capital.
Thanks!
