Hey there everyone. Nice to be here. I've gone over a few of the posts here, and I'm liking what I'm seeing. Plenty of people with information, and personality to boot.
I just picked up an '83 XJ6 off of Craigslist for $300. Now, before you jump to conclusions, it's a beast.
The 50-or-so mile drive home was a little shaky, as the car was only running on 5 cylinders. The headlights didn't work, the column housing is missing, as is the radio and climate control cover plate. The ignition switch is broken (a universal one is dangling there now), I have no keys for the thing, and cannot use the drivers side gas tank due to a major gouge from a forklift on that side.
The paint needs to be redone, and there are minor little things that I haven't figured out yet, but the interior is great. One small rip in the headrest of the drivers seat at the seam.
In about 2 hours I managed to fix the headlight problem, mere dirty fuse block under the hood on the drivers fender, the #1 spark plug wire was simply disconnected from the distributor cap, and I rewired the universal ignition switch properly.
I'm still 100% confused about everything else. LOL

Hi there visin....welcome to the forum. Sounds liuke you got yourself a nice project car there that hopefully we can help with. There are some great members with the older cars that are very knowledgable as well as some fab techs who usually help out so I'm sure you won't be short of answers.
Post up some pics when you can
