Hi I brought a 1974 Jaguar XJ6 S2 a year ago it had been in storage for 24 years, it has done 25,769km's.
The Jaguar is in beautiful condition as you would expect with the low k's and been well looked after.
First items was replacement of the original tyres and all fluids and rubber hoses.
It has been off the road since I drove it into my garage.
List of issues and items fixed to date and mods to date, back on the road soon I hope.
The auto choke heating pipe work was rust out and had to remove all of this and installed manual choke and recond SU's and polished them.
Recond radiator and all new rubbers
New windscreen washer reservoir, (hard to find) and tubing
Recond brake booster and new master cylinder
Replaced all brake rubber hose,
Recon all brake callipers, ceramic pad,
Recon Alternator, polished alum, painted rest black
New slotted and dimple disks
New A/C compressor
Recon power steering and new idle pulley
New battery
New Horns
New spark plugs, ignition leads, new electronic distributor (replaces points) new coil (more power) replace leaking distributor "O" ring
Sandblasted and powder coated radiator top plate, air filter, radiator overflow reservoir, exhaust heat pipe over engine, eng bay cross bars. Battery tray holder,
New RH & LH mirrors
New bonnet heat shield
Inside Jag
New roof lining original sagged
New seat foam to base and head rest, seat leather in beautiful condition no cracks at all.
Christmas present new "E" Type wooden steering wheel and Jag Boss
And burl wooden transmission selector handle
New signs and other beautification work in the engine bay.
Front eng seal replaced, road worthy issue
New engine bay rubber surrounds
Polished rocker covers
Painted any rusty brackets or body fittings
Only rust was on bottom of grill cowling were connected to chassis
Item left to do
Connect new fuel lines to carnies
Tune engine
A/C connected and charged
Install new seat foam
Paint head between rocker covers
Struggling with fuels placements, trying to remember what it look like a year ago
Also had 3 spine operations in neck this slowed me down a lot
