Well, true to form. I don't do most things in the correct order, thinking I know a better way. Then I usually find out, those who have been there before me, usually have a better way. So, here I am.
My name is Earl and I am in Garland, Tx, a suburb of Dallas. I have a love affair with cars. If you will look at my signature, I've had some really cool cars. My favorite was the 63 Split WIndow. I used to drive slow, in front of stores with glass windows, so I could watch my car.
My current ride is an 06 Goat. But my hip hurts when I sit in it for too long, and I'm tired of rowing through the gears in bumper to bumper traffic. I really need four doors and a bigger trunk.
When I was shopping for my son's truck, they had an 02 XJ8 that caught my eye. I went back twice to drive itand look it over. Then it was gone.
I have found a 99 XJ8 with 72K that I will probably pick up this Friday.
I love to work on my cars and derive a great deal of pleasure from it. The only thing I have not done is rebuild a tranny or a rear end. Everything else, was no big deal. When I don't know how to do something, I read and read.
Notmuch else to tell. I have four kids, 34, 23, 21, and 20. We're in the process of adopting our great nephew, another reason I need four doors. My wife has a small coffee shop and I am a claims consultant. So, if you ever need some good homemade dessert or help with ANY type of claim, send me a PM.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks, to all.
Nothing better than turning a wrench and fixing it yourself. Or screwing it up, stepping back, asking some questions, then fixing it.
Well, I bought a 99 XJ8, 72K, with a new tranny.
Will change fluids this weekend. I see it will need an idler pully, as it's throwing grease. Driver's door panel is loose at the bottom. Will change plugs just to see what I have. Need to clean and recondition the leather.
But hey, it's 12 years old and needs some TLC.
Oh, yeah, will have to attack the upper tensioners before it gets too hot this summer. Maybe new stereo and speakers.
But everytime I get into it, I smile. You know, I bought the GTO for the motor and tranny, but I was not impressed with the body. This XJ is a georgeous body style. So, it's not the fastest. It's as quick as my old Z28, and it looks great.
