FINALLY joining the Jag family with my '02 X-Type junkyard rescue
Hey guys,
Always loved Jags, and always had a thing for torturing myself with beautiful European luxury cars from yesterdecade that are hours away from being sent to an early grave. The latest member of the family is this 2001.5 Jaguar X-Type 3.0 with 109,xxx miles in the super elusive color Titanium that I scored for the hefty price of $300. When I bought it, the water pump belt and pulley were both GONE, and a quick OBD scan pulled 17(!) codes. Since then, I've replaced the water pump and its associated belt drive components, the main drive belt and tensioner, all 4 O2 sensors, and have plugs and coils and a bunch of gaskets/vacuum lines inbound. It unfortunately has a battle wound on the front right, including a mismatching wheel that I'm dying to replace with an OEM match. I'd also loooove to find a steering wheel in good shape with the wood/leather combo since the wood paneling in this thing is absolutely gorgeous. And eventually, I have to figure out how to remove some small/medium dents since I doubt I'll find another color match donor to pull the fender from (I can't even find a donor for the damn wheel), but overall it runs and has been a welcome addition that I hope can last me a few years. Despite all the controversy that surrounds this car, I firmly believe that anyone who considers this to be "just a Ford" is full of it lol, and that's with 8 DTCs still left to sort out. I can't wait to have this thing back to 100%.

Welcome to the forum XeroTheory,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. There's clearly a better class of junkyard in FL when you can come up with finds like that!
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.

Ya know, for that Princely sum, you got a Lot of car! Even with all you've done to it to this point, and all you'll have to do in future.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one on the planet with a soft spot for Rescued, Abused and Unloved Vehicles. As you have no doubt discovered, they are the most fulfilling to put right.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
