Default First Jag

Was a motorcycle rider most of my life, but now looking for a different experience. I was looking for a sports car like BMW, Mercedes or something along those lines. Found a 1999 XK8 and it seemed to have everything I was looking for. A/C for the Florida summers and convertible for the nicer days. Went to pick it up, made it half way home and it died. (cranking but no start.) Had it towed home and so started my adventure.
Turned out to be the fuel pump and now that's fixed and she is running pretty good.

Used to be manufacturing engineer with a degree in electromechanical engineering. It's come in handy lately.
I am a long time gearhead and used to turning wrenches. What i now understand is that with Jaguar you have to take a lot of things on faith or she'll drive you crazy

Welcome to the forums warendt,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
It's been Waiting for an owner like you, one who will take proper care of it. Once you get all the Deferred Maintenance caught up (the death knell of far too many Jaguars), it will be so appreciative that it will give you no trouble for Years to come.

Welcome to the forums form ElinorB.
