Default First Jaguar

Hi,

I purchased my first ever Jaguar a few weeks ago, a 2007 XJ Sport Premium. I know very little about these cars therefore I am hoping you will all be able to provide me with lots of advice. I've had the ECU remapped and it's currently running at about 250 bhp / 400 ft lbs of torque. My next jobs are:

- Upgrade the headlights
- Upgrade the brakes
- Figure how to connect an iPod to the stereo

I'd like to know if there any upgrades to the headlights available and what these would like. I used to have a BMW M3 and it had 'angel eyes', is there anything similar for the Jag or does it look a bit chav? Also, is there much benefit to be had in upgrading the brake discs to drilled and grooved? If so, what's the biggest brake disc that would fit?

If anyone has any useful links then please send them through stick them on here

Welcome.

BMW "Angel/halo" lights look very outdated. There will be something, but I would not go that BMW way.

Good luck.

Is there something wrong with the braking system? Are you planning on tracking the car?

Thanks for the warm welcome and advice. I shall have a search around to see what I can find in relation to my queries.

In response to NB Cat; I am not looking to track the car (it's far too heavy and it's a diesel! ) and there isn't anything necessarily wrong with the braking system (the discs are reasonably new). I would like to find out if there is any benefit in upgrading the discs as I'm conscious that it's quite a heavy car and there has been significant advances in brake discs since 2007. Also, I can't help thinking that a set of 360mm drilled and grooved discs would compliment the 20 inch wheels from an aesthetic perspective.

You've hit the nail on the head with "aesthetic" regarding drilled or grooved discs.

Unless you go to larger disc/pad contact area then braking is not going to be radically different.
