Hi all, I have just joined the forum today and hope I am doing this correctly. I bought my first Jaguar last year. I have been following this forum for a little while and have to say it is brilliant. So good to see so many enthusiasts helping each other and enjoying their cars so much. I bought a 2008 XKR , Emerald Fire Coupe. I have had the XKR for 18 months but due to the drought here I have only clocked up 6000 kilometres so far. This car puts a smile on your face every time you walk past it and that turns to a big grin when you start it and a bigger grin every time you drive it. Looking forward to some big trips in the next 12 months. No problems at all in the last 6000 km. I will post a photo when when the "trouble and strife" can assist me with my limited computer skills, regards to all, Roger.

Welcome to the forums Roger,

Good to have you with us.

It sounds like you've already found the relevant model forum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - New South Wales / ACT Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...-wales-act-93/ to find other members in your region.

I've added add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thanks for the welcome Clarke. I think a lot of bike riders would appreciate the feel of driving a Jaguar more than a lot of other cars. They just seem to give you that bit more

Thankyou Grant, Looks like a great tally of classic British engineering you have owned over the years. I am envious.

Thankyou for the welcome Graham and thanks for adding my vehicle details to signature. I am struggling a little with working out how to reply, but slowly getting there. Not very computer literate.

I had an even more basic problem. When I saw Tablelands, I immediately thought East Africa and not Australia!

Hello, Roger,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
I don't think I've seen the Emerald Fire color. It sounds Luscious.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

I'm also new to the forum, hoping to find a nice 2007 or newer XK in Emerald Green. If you get tired of yours, please contact me. I saw a 2007 XK in Emerald Green at a car show last weekend, and it was, IMHO, the best looking vehicle of the 300-plus on display.

The OP Greenfire was last on the forums in November 2021 so will probably not see your post. In any event, would you seriously contemplate importing a RHD Jaguar from New South Wales in Australia to Oregon in the USA?

Graham

Hi John, I just saw your post in my emails. I was knocked off my feet when I first saw my 2008 XKR. I did not even know Jaguar X150s existed. I have had the XKR for three and a half years now and have only managed to put 10,000 km on it due to work commitments. Please think carefully before committing to buy one as these cars as they have to be the most addictive pleasure giving automobile ever made. I dont believe I will ever part with mine - there is just nothing else out there that comes close. The emerald fire/ caramel/burr walnut coupe combo is exactly what I would order if I could buy a brand new one. I was very lucky, one owner car, mature enthusiast owner, no accidents and only 33,000km on the odometer. It still feels brand new! I flew halfway across Australia to buy it and the 1500km/24hour trip home was an absolute blast. We have very poor internet out here in the bush (1 to 3mbps download speeds and lots of drop outs etc) so I dont make a very good forum member but hoping to get mobile or satellite coverage later this year. This forum is absolutely amazing ! I have learnt so much looking on here. The characters, their knowledge, their wit, their unbounded enthusiasm for such beautiful and driveable cars and their endless efforts to help every Jaguar driver enjoy their cars is second to none. I wish you good luck in your search. We only live once and I believe any car enthusiast who gets to drive an X150 will go all out to own one. Pure pleasure !
