I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

"I use the emergency brake at Redline to slip it into neutral and pull the emergency brake on because I have a bad leg. Then it just suddenly stopped working" You apply the EPB at "redline"...?
I understand the bad leg part of the equation, but I am not sure the electronic parking brake was designed or intended for regular use in this manner. For most users it gets applied after the transmission is in "park" and the pawl is engaged inside of the transmission as a back-up.
