Default Former owner, may be future owner

Greetings,
I'm Jeff Cline, and I reside in a suburb of Houston Texas. I previously owned a Carnival Red 1997 XK8 convertible from 2000-2009, and participated heavily in the Roadfly XK8/R forum during much of that time.

I loved the car, but during my ownership the car experienced almost every typical problem of that early generation (timing chain tensioners replaced, followed later by Nikasil failure requiring engine replacement, bad wheel bearings, bad front bushings, convertible top fluid gelling, etc - as I said, the gamut of typical issues). The car tried my patience and I traded it in as it approached the mileage where transmissions were known to begin failing.

Now I'm considering adding an F-Type S (or R) convertible to my garage, and will be researching here before making any decisions.

I've been lurking on the F-type forum here for a bit and am pleased to see how active it is.

I look forward to lurking, asking a question or two, and then contributing if I can after purchase.

Jeff

Welcome to the forum Jeff,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

As you've already found your way to the F-Type tech forum, there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the USA Southwest Region forum by following this link USA Southwest - AZ TX NM OK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
