fuel injection conversion for series I xj6?
HI. I owned a 1971 Xj6 series I in 1975. A nightmare, but I loved that thing. SO I am considering buying another to drive daily on a 5 minute commute and around the Pasadena area of CA. Should I take this step, I would like to eliminate as many annoyances as possible and try to make it a more serviceable, reliable transport. Does anyone know if the XK engine can be converted from the dual Strombergs to fuel injection?

It could be converted to the Bosch/Lucas D-Jetronic if you want to replace the inlet manifold, fuel pump, wiring loom and other parts. The camshafts may also need to be changed to match the fuel injection system. The cylinder head on the later 4.2 litre engine also has larger inlet valves.
Perhaps it may be far simpler to find a competent Jaguar specialist to work on the car to correct the 'annoyances' as they occur, or just find a Series 3 XJ6 that already has fuel injection.
