Hello I'm garagehound

I hope the retractable hardtop pic comes through on this post. It is a really good way to describe my interest in all things mechanical. I am joining this forum:
1. Because I read a post by Spectre, (ok spelling might be off on that) while looking for information on possible pitfalls to look for when buying an XJ, (was looking at a few on CL and they look well maintained so it got me wondering)
2. Because I once belonged to a forum called Toyotavanpeople.com. It convinced me that niche forums offer the most knowledgeable people about pretty much everything. Based on what I learned I had the most enjoyable ownership experience of a 91 Previa. To this day I regret not keeping it and getting the tranny looked at to be sure it was toast. bygones.... Sold it for a decent dime since it still ran really well and I had all the receipts for ...well this is getting long
3. Because it is a chance for me to talk to people with mechanical sensibility who give a **** about cars. I like every kind of car...well dumptrucks, (especially old Macks) to airplanes, (especially with naked women painted on the side) to construction cranes, (I know, I know, not a car....but they are really cool and I could really raise hell in the neighborhood when the ******* across the street decides to let me hear his latest favorite song at 3 am.)
4. Because it is alot of fun to read these threads when I can't sleep and it gives me better dreams than google news et. all.
5. I believe I will own a Jaguar within the next 1-3 years. Patience is a virtue I have in spades. Actually it is stupidity combined with a love of systems and stubborness to overcome my limitations. C's do get degrees.
6. Well, there should be a six since I am already at 5, but I have to go to the store and make faces at my wife and daughter while we shop. It is my JOB, and I love it.
Cheers,
more on me later... and a pic
thinking about poses ;0)
hound,
out
