Hi there. My name is Daniel. I'm an Australian who now calls Alabama home. I own too many cars, two of which are a 1977 Chevrolet C10 swb pickup that I am currently building and the other side have just acquired is a 1986 Jaguar XJS with a V12. I've loved the V12 XJSs since I was a wee fellow and always wanted one in gold. I'm not there yet, this one is silver and is in poor condition. I purchased it for its front end to put under my pickup and possibly it's engine for the same pickup. I'm here looking for information regarding the potential of these engines stock. I haven't delved too deep into mine other than knowing it hasn't run in years, has 89k miles on it, was parked because the fuel pump went bad, and amazingly still cranks. I'm interested in knowing what the potential of the stock engine is with just a little work. Should I retain the factory engine management or build a MegaSquirt system for it? What would I do to this engine to get the most out of it? It's got all the makings of a powerful engine but somehow only makes 265 hp, what's holding it back?
