Default george young xk120 owner

Now that I'm retired I'm working on my xk120 and trying to get it back on the road. I've had it for close to 38 years and haven't put many miles on it. The biggest sin is allowing it sit for so many years and not run it. Today my buddy helped me pull the Lucas 2262 Generator the pulley has the cooling vanes on it. Needless to say he dropped it and broke the pulley. Now I'm trying to find one. I'm going to have the generator rebuilt (not charging very well) and bearings sound noisy. I'm really trying to take my time so after today I will be doing more of the work Solo. At any rate it will be exciting to get it back on the road. I did manage to fire it up so I feel that I'm heading in the right direction. I need a network to find out where to send a Lucas Generator for rebuild, etc. george

Welcome to the forum George,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK120/XK140/XK150 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome.

Good luck with the XK, and Solo is always the best.

Hello, George,
I'm sorry to read about your generator fan, probably made of Unobtanium. I hope you find one, or can make something else fit.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
