Good Day.. From the Middle East, New XKR owner
Hey guys,
Just purchased my first cat, a 2011 Jaguar XKR S/C 5.0.
I've been lurking the forums for some time, seems like a great group of people and a wealth of information.
I am Mohammed (you can call me Moe), from Doha, Qatar in the Middle East.
Been a fan of Jags for some time, wanted to buy a 2003 XKR vert in 2005 but didn't quite fit in it (being 6ft 5). Then the new ones came along, loved the design and they are a lot roomier inside but i didn't like the fact that they still came with the 4.2, felt that engine was getting slightly dated. Come 2010, the mighty 5.0 S/C majorly changed my conceptions on the vehicle. in November 2011, i went with a friend to pick up his range rover and i spotted this beautiful red XKR on the lot, went to check it out and noticed a salesman followed me with the keys. He handed them over, told me get into the driver's seat and start it. I did just that and was sold! This is the first car i get into and think.. I WANT!
Back then, they were asking over $100K for the vehicle which had just came in as a trade on an XJ, it had around 200 miles on the clock and was practically new. I didn't want to put that much in a vehicle then (especially with Jag's depreciation in this part of the world) so i overlooked it (very sadly).
Fast forward to last week, Sep 2013, i was driving by the dealership and spotted the same XK-R. Decided to park and check it out, apparently the manager decided to drive it for 2 years and they had just put it back up for sale! The car has 2500 miles on the clock now and a remaining warranty till Nov/2015. Worked out a deal for $68K and pulled the trigger.
I am a huge Toyota/Lexus fan, owned quite a few and stuck to my favourites, a 2010 Lexus SC430 (Tastefully modded), and a 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo (also red like the cat haha). I also have a collection of land cruisers with an original example of every model created from the 80s till today.
Guess that summarizes who i am and the Jag, i'll leave you guys with the pics..
Great to be on here, can't wait to engage with you all in the near future.
Moe

Thank you very much gentlemen, I truly appreciate the warm welcome, seems like i finally found a forum with very nice mods haha.
BRUCE:- It is great to find someone on here with a Supra haha. I was a little worried some would associate me with a 'ricey' crowd .
I would've actually liked silver on the Jag but for the deal i got, didn't wanna be picky at all haha.
Thanks again guys, i truly appreciate the welcome and support, makes me feel part of the family already.

I love the CCWs, i went with Volk GT-Cs and regret not doing the CCWs. Thinking about shifting the Volks to the SC to get rid of the damn spacers, and getting a set for the spoilt brat (supra).
Here's a pic (minus my brother's unnecessary presence).
