Good day, thank you for being here
Good Day/Evening,
My name is Ronan, I've actually been a member here for a little bit, but have only posted recently. I'd unfortunately neglected to write a basic intro, so here goes.
I've always loved the Jaguars, from the time I was young (8 or so), from my grandfather's friend who had a 12-cylinder XJ in British Racing Green. I LOVED that car.....
My first was a 2000 XJ8 Vanden Plas which I loved. Unfortunately, I was rear-ended coming home from work, and while I survived, the big cat, unfortunately, did not :-(. It took a little while, but having the VDP was enough to make me want nothing else except another X308 (this time supercharged as opposed to the VDP) so I found a 2001 XJR in British Racing Green (favorite color). I love the car overall and would like to get it back into top-running shape. While I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, I'm not entirely an idiot, have a modicum of common sense, am capable of research and following directions. So I intend to do most of whatever needs to be done by myself (hopefully with the assistance of this group and the people on it!).
I live in Southern Dutchess County, New York, but work in Uptown Manhattan as a Network Engineer. Right now I'm forced into taking Metro North commuter railroad, but would be nice to once again take the big cat back and forth instead. What great car for a commute like that!
At any rate, that's me, any other questions, please feel free to ask!

Welcome to the forum Ronan,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I had a Series I VdP rear ended and written off - still miss that car.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

Thank you all. Graham, yes, I admittedly have a thing for the X308's. Not entirely sure why, but there's just something about them, that the X350's seem to "lack". I suppose eventually, given time and the ever increasing scarcity of the X308, eventually, I'll have to go with an X350, or there's always the XKR.......:-)
