Default Grateful New Member 2002 X-Type

We inherited a 2002 X-Type, 139,000mi, Automatic, 6 Cylinder, 2500cc, from my father-in-law. This site has been a blessing because we have had so many problems with this car and I have received valuable information on this site, so thank you to all who selflessly share their expertise. I now kinda have a love/dislike relationship with this "girl". I love her because she is beautiful and fun and was once driven by my father in law (who I love very much), but in the past year we have spent over $6,000.00 in repairs!!! it hurts just to type that. After our most recent repairs, our mechanic said that our check engine light will never go off even though the repairs have been completed. Now we are having quite a time with emissions because we must submit application to qualify for a waiver. Has this happened to anyone else? I can't understand why the Engine Light is on if the problem was fixed. Thanks again for any advise. It is most appreciated!!!

Hello, Stephen,
Having recently rebuilt the suspension (and several other things) on my car I feel your pain. However, our X-type section will doubtless be able to help you with your check engine light. Someone will be along shortly to direct you there.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Stephen,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It sounds like you've already found your way to the model forum but if not, follow this link X-Type ( X400 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. I recommend you repost your CEL question there.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/
