Greetings
Good afternoon to all.
My name is Tom Yoder and I live in southwestern Indiana. I work in Henderson Ky as an Aviation Maintenance Manager. So I spend my days working with young techs, instructing and inspecting their work. So my mechanical skills far outweigh my computer skills.
I have just bought my 18th Jag. Yes, 18, not a typo. It is a 2003 XK8 roadster. It is triple black with about 72K miles an one previous owner.
I bought my first Jag in 1969 when I was sixteen. It came to me disassembled and I spent the next four years restoring it. I sold it for enough money to fund most of my education at the University of Louisville. It was a 1953 XK120 Roadster, built the year I was born and I have been hooked on old Jags ever since. I owned an Etype, which I bought for $1500 and it came with a parts car to keep it running (those were the days) and sold it for twice that. Since I have owned and cared for multiple XJ6s, XJ8s, Xj40s, XJS coupes and 2+2s, and a previous 2005 XK8. I have also owned numerous Triumphs, MGs, and Healys. Even two Rollers, a Silver Shadow and a Silver Spur. Obviously I have gotten drunk on the cool-aid that makes one an anglophile. That said, a lot of my experience is in the older Lucas powered cars. Yes I even have that t-shirt that quotes Lucas as the prince of darkness. As everyone knows the only reason the Brits drink warm beer is because Lucas made their refrigerators. ( I apologize to any Brits that read this, just pulling your legs a bit).
I look forward to enjoying the company of like minded people, and I hope I can contribute as much as I gain from the association.
Respectfully, Tom Yoder
