Greetings! (Again)
2004 Jaguar X-Type
3.0-Auto-Petrol
75,000 miles. Owned since 29K.
Was a member prior, actually may still be. Car has been running pretty well for a good while and forgot my ID, Password, etc. Then came this morning...
Jag started fine but saw the engine light on. GREAT!!! Looked around under the hood for a quick fix, checked the gas cap, everything OK. Took it to have the codes read and they came up with P1647 and P1111.
Reading about the codes, P1647 sounds like an O2 sensor. P1111 sounds like something else. The problem with the internet is that all the info is there, but seems about 70% is wrong. Hoping to find that elusive 30% here!
Here comes the obligatory stupid question... For the past 2 years I've had the intermittent ABS slow-speed-kick-in thing. Was fairly intermittent when it 1st started (cold, snow, wet weather) but now much more frequent. Never any ABS light or anything, but can now pretty much tell when it's going to do it before it happens. Likely no connection whatsoever to the codes mentioned above but a couple Google posts from far and distant lands mention vacuum issues relating to both problems. Is this possibly possible?
I'd love to get a 2-fer and have both issues go away with one fix but doubt it. Don't want to start replacing parts just to develop an intimate relationship with the car.
Any thoughts from the faithful????
Dave

Welcome back to the forum Dave,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
P1111 is NOT one to worry about. It means all OnBoard monitoring checks have been completed since the last memory clear.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA North East Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-north-east-me-nh-vt-ma-ri-ct-nj-ny-pa-35/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
