Default Greetings from Brenham Texas

Greetings from a new old Jaguar owner. Purchased a 1997 Jaguar XJR about four weeks ago with 34,000 miles on the clock. This is my first Jaguar and I bought it on a whim. I am crazy about this car. I have already put 2,000 miles on it. Use of this forum has already answered many of my questions and hopefully will help me keep it running.

Welcome to the forum Mjones,

Congratulations on the XJR. Amazing low miles on a fifteen year old vehicle.

Good to hear you've already found useful information here.

1997 was model changeover year with the last of the six cylinder X300 and the first of the V8 X308 available. Remember to add appropriate vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice.

You can also visit the US Southwest Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/southwest-us-az-tx-nm-ok-37/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Thanks for the welcome.

Mine is the 6-cylinder version and I will add that to my signature.

The miles are real. The car belonged to a friend of mine. He bought it for his wife new and she didn't like the car. It has spent most of it's life parked in his garage and only driven occasionally. He recently decided to make room for some new toys and mentioned the car to me. I decided to try a Jaguar and I am very happy that I did.

The only things not original on the car are the tires and the battery.

Thanks for the advice. I have mostly been reading so far. I am still learning about my car and really haven't had much to contribute yet.

I will see about pictures soon. It is a beauty. I have never had this much fun driving a car before. I am trying to come up with a good name for her.
