Default Greetings from Florida

Just wanted to introduce myself, I am from the Panhandle of Florida and just recently purchased a 2005 X-type that has 46,431 original miles. I am quiet happy with the car and found this site while researching how to retro fit SAT NAV controls to this vehicle. I am the office manager for my local water district and a bit of a techno nerd. Have a great day!

Default Techno-Nerds are always Welcome!

Hello Bfuentes,

I'm Bill from Mechanicsville, Va. I'm currently working on multiple conversions. Including a nav. You will find that the 2002-03 center consoles are typically black (and tape player) and the 2004 and newer are gray (and generally CD). If you can find a salvage yard that will allow you to remove the wiring harness and other parts, the project will be much easier.

I think the majority of X-typers on this site are a bit techno-nerdy.
So, You've found a new home!

Still learning but happy to help when I can.

best regards,
Bill

Thanks Bill, it's amazing the compiled knowledge on this forum. I think I am going to retro fit the sat nav controls as I like the fit and finish of the stock equipment. I have a double din radio that I pulled out of my accord and I know it will fit but I just don't like the fact that the radio will sit so low. So I will start my journey. Thanks again
