Smile Greetings from the French Alps

Hello to everyone. I fell in love with Jaguars over 40 years ago, when I met my first E-Type. So I'm embarrassed to admit that, rather belatedly, I'm only just about to become the proud owner of my first Jaguar - a silver 2005 XK8 convertible in immaculate condition, having had one owner from new and with a seemingly genuine 25k miles on the clock. I collect the car next week and will drive it out here to the Alps (near Chamonix), where it will reside for the summer. Along with my Defender (and my 3 Bernese Mountain Dogs), the XK8 will become my hobby. I joined this forum as there are several areas where I will need advice - LHD headlights, sound system upgrade, satnav upgrade etc - and at first glance I cannot believe the quality, maturity and general excellence of the posts, which are in stark contrast to some of the Land Rover sites I have used. I very much look forward to learning and benefiting from the available wisdom and perhaps to contributing myself in due course.

Hi Ian,
As you are probably aware, this is a very friendly forum so welcome.
Look forward to hearing of your planned upgrades but most of all, enjoy the car and the forum.

Welcome to the forum Ian,

Congratulations on the XK8.

Follow this link XK8 / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR section for help, advice and information. If you're new to this model, the 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the European Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in mainland Europe. This is the section for headlight conversion advice.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham
