That should cover that. ![Icon Lol](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
I am retired from a 30 year career in Law Enforcment currently living in Northern California. In 1975 while living in Carmel, CA my father purchased a 1964 XKE from the original owner. The following year the family went overseas and I returned that fall. I was fortunate enough to be able to get the E out of storage and drove it for 2 1/2 years while attending College in Fresno. When the family returned home to the states, the E went back east with my father.
I am leaving this weekend to drive back "home" to Nebraska and pick up the E to live with me. YIPPIE. My father has decided it is time to pass it on. It is in very good overall condition and has been well looked after these past 37 plus years, but not driven much. I hope to change that.
I'm looking forward to sharing information and learning from fellow E Type owners. I'm sure there is a learning curve to the care and feeding of a classic Jaguar.
Thank you all,
Charlie

Welcome Charlie to the best Jaaaaag forum in town. My stepson just came back from a few days at Shasta (near Redding)with his cousins.
Sounds like you've got a great Jag to inherit, congratulations..
About the only thing you'll need to learn is how to post the many pics you'll be taking on your trip back
Have a safe trip...

Welcome to the forum Charlie,
There'll be no gaps in the history on this one. Not many stay in the same ownership for as many years.
Follow this link E type ( XK-E ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the E-Type section for help and advice and to input your own knowledge of this superb model.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy both the car and your retirement.
Graham

Thanks for the warm welcome. As soon as we get back I'll post more info and pics. As luck would have it I found a place in Omaha that will shrink wrap the car for the journey. The plan is to load it up on the trailer, put it's car cover on, then shrink wrap it. That should protect it well from just about anything while on the road and keep "inquiring minds" from doing too much poking around while on needed stops.

Thank you Graham. My father has taken very good care of her for these many years. I am very fortunate to have been able to receive such a great car.
There is very little that "needs" to be done to it. I want to spend the first efforts at cleaning up under the bonnet. It's been sitting for so long that now that I'm driving it, it is developing some small oil leaks. I want to fix those and do some cleaning up and polishing. I know when I start to show it off people will want to see under the bonnet and I want it to look as good as the rest of car.
Eventually I would like to find a period correct radio, speakers and grill covers and replace the antenna to a period looking correct one.
