Greetings from Malaysia!
Hello everyone
Im garethlye from the country Malaysia (am i the first? )
Truthfully i've been coming back to this particular forum everytime I googled something about my Jag..
Recently bought a 2nd hand Jaguar 1997 XJ6 x300 for cheap, previously owned by a VIPs wife.
Outlook was pretty decent, although I did send it for a 3 coat respray of grey as it started to fade a little.
Although it could start up and move, it still needed a lot of work as its innards weren't all in good shape. It took me about 4k USD to get most of it fixed and patched up. Seat could only move in one direction, clock's screen is all buzzed up, and my security module would prevent me from firing the car up from time to time. It was pretty frustrating but I have to say i'm glad to have it up and running wonderfully(tho I have not fixed everything yet)
Why I bought a Jag?
Well, I first sat in a Jag a few years ago, same model, and I felt it was really comfortable, simple and powerful. Although it lacked some cool tech that today's cars deliver, it still performs really well and stands out amongst the rest. (Not too many Jags in my country) So when I found this baby, I flipped a coin and decided to buy it. No regrets
So now that Ive had a taste of a Jag, I'm quite interested in getting a newer XJ 2012 model but not so sure as to whether I should buy it or trade my current one.
Nothing much to say, except I'm happy to have joined you're communnity.
Cheers.

Welcome to the forum garethlye,
You're not alone. There's seven other members listing Malaysia as their location:
I see you've already found the X300 tech section and I hope you soon get the Seat Module issue resolved.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the 'Other Areas' Region section by following this link Other Areas - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your part of the World.
Enjoy the forum.
