Greetings from Oregon...new "old" Jag in the driveway!
Hello everyone,
My name is Al....and I am becoming a Jag-a-holic! Just last week we purchased a 1986 XJ6 VP edition and I have found new love! I sure didn't need this car but I HAD to have it!!!
Previous owner/s obviously took extremely good care of it as it is in beautiful condition inside and out. It is not without issues as there are a few things to deal with but nothing major.
A couple of small exhaust sections to be replaced...and then the ever so popular "saggy headliner". A boost in the AC last night has her blowing cold again! Yeah!!!
Here in Oregon we do have a little rain (occasionally) so my new toy will probably spend most of her life under cover in the garage. With the low miles that we will probably put on it, hopefully the old six cylinder will run well for a while longer!!
Right now it will probably be used for an occasional weekend cruise or here and there for "date night" with the wife. If not...she looks beautiful just sitting there!!! Looking forward to being a part of this great forum.
Hopefully I might have some worthwhile input sometime!!!

Welcome to the forum Al,
Good to have you with us on Jaguar Forums.
Is the XJ6 a late Series III or an early XJ40? Both were available in 1986.
follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 Series III section or this one XJ40 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ40 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the US Western Region section by following this link Western US - AK CA NV OR UT HI WA ID - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forum.
Graham
