Greetings from Raleigh
Greetings fellow members. I'm new to this wonderful forum and thank you for it's existence. For lack of published DIY workshop information on our cars, we really have to rely on each other or be at the mecy of the dealer. $$$ ouch! A year ago I purchased a slightly used 2005 XKR conv. with only 14010 miles. What a beautiful car! I've long admired the bodystyle since the introduction of the XK8 in 97 but now, finally, I have one in my garage. I'm not exactly new to Jags. I owned a 67 XKE coupe for 10 years. Another beautiful and fun car but not for the mechanically challenged. I rebuilt the engine myself and learned about Jaguar's intricate chain system for the twin OHCs. Between Lucas electrics and ballancing the tripple SU HD8 carbs, believe me when I say that electronic ignition and fuel injection are a home mechanics best friend. Anyway, thanks for being here and I look forward to sharing as I learn more about these wonderfully modern "new" Jags. Happy motoring.

Jaguars have become VERY COMPLICATED since I had my first Jaguar back in the early 70's (1966 'E'Type coupe) But I stayed with it and moved from points to electronics, carbs to fuel injection and switches/wires to computers/networks!!!
Keep reading and learning, you can save money by understanding how the new $#*% works!!
