Hello to all,
I am from the province of Newfoundland, Canada....which is affectionally known as the "Rock". It is for the obvious reason, which is that it is mostly made of rock....as anyone that has ever built a fence here will be quick to point out.. I have a 2005 Jaguar XJ8 Super V8 4.2 L - black. It has 113,000 miles. It is a beautiful car! We purchased our Jag from a dealer in Palm Desert California in 2007. It has given us a lot of joyous worry free miles...so far. Oops, better excuse myself while I go find a piece of wood . It is garaged in the winter and has been since in this climate.

It is presently in sick bay! however, it is mostly for preventative maintenance. It has acquired a minor hesitation and entered into limp mode a couple of times over the last couple of years. So, I thought a tune-up of sorts would be a good start. When I get her back on her feet I will post a couple of pics.

I have worked on all my cars over the years, including the Jag, mostly tune-up issues, brakes, air conditioning, replacing parts in general but I have never gone into the bowels of a motor. So my skills are on the periphery of any reference to "mechanical expertise". But I try. I break the odd thing because of my lack of knowledge or frustration or probably both but I usually come out a winner...but more from persistence than skill. Annnd...If not, there is always CAA I guess. Although, I can proudly say I have never had to resort to that yet....just wanted to get that in there

I have tapped into the resources of this Forum many times from afar and I thank everyone that have contributed unwittingly to my causes. I sure hope I can repay the favour in the future!
