Hi - I recently bought a 2006 BRG XJ8 from the local Jag dealer (Moore). Traded in my beloved 2005 Acura TL, which was a great car but a bit "sterile". This is my 2nd Jag, having owned a 91 XJ6 in the late 90s (black with red interior and Dayton wires) which I loved. Ever since then I've referred to myself as being "between Jags"
I've had a thing for the newer XJs since 04, with the various technical upgrades (6-speed, lighter weight, etc.), always thought I'd have one but actually wasn't thinking along those lines as I was considering trading the TL. I was leaning towards a new Subaru Outback (I'm also a happy former Subie owner).
One day a couple weeks ago my wife and I were going to lunch and drove past the Jag dealer, and I noticed a gorgeous XJ8 in what appeared to be BRG. I had to take a closer look. A side note: I am also a Miata nut, having owned over 10 of them since the 90s, and finally now have my "dream Miata", the first special edition, a 91 BRG SE which I have got back to close to new condition. So BRG has always been a favorite of mine, and seeing this Jag really pushed my buttons. My wife likes the car, but finds it a bit over the top - oh well, I figure life's too short to not drive what you like
