I'm a sextuagenarian Realtor from Long Island New York who has long admired the beauty and grace of Jaguars--I guess from the day I first saw an XKE at the New York Auto Show as a grade schooler in the 1960s. A few years ago I picked up a slightly used 2006 XJR and have loved it for the 50K miles I have driven it. It is a joy to drive, gets compliments from all my clients, and I feel good whenever I'm behind its wheel. However, I'm not a car guy. I can barely change a tire and carry AAA coverage so I never have to. Now, my extended warranty is coming to an end and I have fear and trepidation going forward that my Jaguar's trouble free days may be at an end. So I wonder: should I--can I?--get more warranty coverage at 60K miles? I've done all the usual typical regular servicing at my local Jaguar dealer, but what lies ahead for this vehicle at this age? My Jaguar has a nice comfortable indoor parking spot and doesn't come out in the winter. I'd like to get another 10 years out of it at least. Appreciate all your input. With thanks in advance.
